L’Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 (OMS) et les Centres africains de contr\u00f4le et de pr\u00e9vention des maladies (CDC) ont annonc\u00e9 vendredi lancer un plan conjoint de 518 millions de dollars (446 M d’euros), de juin \u00e0 novembre, pour lutter contre l’\u00e9pid\u00e9mie d’Ebola en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo (RDC) et dans des pays limitrophes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’\u00e9pid\u00e9mie a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9clar\u00e9e le 15 mai dans le nord-est de la RDC, mais les autorit\u00e9s sanitaires envisagent que la souche Bundibugyo du virus Ebola, assez rare, circulait sous les radars depuis un certain temps d\u00e9j\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selon les derniers chiffres de l’OMS, 381 cas ont \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9s en RDC, dont 64 d\u00e9c\u00e8s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’\u00e9pid\u00e9mie dans le nord-est de la RDC, dont l’\u00e9picentre est la province d’Ituri avec 90 % des cas confirm\u00e9s et 76 % des d\u00e9c\u00e8s, selon le CDC africain, a touch\u00e9 trois provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De l’autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la fronti\u00e8re nord-est, en Ouganda, 16 cas ont \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9s, dont un d\u00e9c\u00e8s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Le plan se concentre sur des domaines clefs: coordination des situations d’urgence, surveillance, analyses en laboratoire, pr\u00e9vention et contr\u00f4le des infections, soins cliniques et mobilisation des communaut\u00e9s\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 le directeur de l’OMS Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus lors d’une conf\u00e9rence de presse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0C’est un plan concret. Il d\u00e9finit ce que nous devons faire d\u00e8s maintenant, ensemble, pour contenir l’\u00e9pid\u00e9mie actuelle et r\u00e9duire le risque de propagation\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
