Le secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l’ONU, Antonio Guterres, a annonc\u00e9 la nomination de Miroslav Jenca, de la Slovaquie, au poste de Repr\u00e9sentant sp\u00e9cial pour la Colombie et Chef de la Mission de v\u00e9rification des Nations Unies en Colombie. M. Jenca succ\u00e8de \u00e0 M. Carlos Ruiz Massieu, du Mexique. Il apporte \u00e0 ce poste plus de 35 ans d’exp\u00e9rience en diplomatie, m\u00e9diation, direction et supervision des op\u00e9rations de paix de l’ONU, ainsi qu’une connaissance approfondie du processus de paix colombien, et de son contexte r\u00e9gional et international. Depuis 2019, M. Jenca occupe le poste de sous-secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral pour l’Europe, l’Asie centrale et les Am\u00e9riques au sein du D\u00e9partement des affaires politiques et de la consolidation de la paix et du D\u00e9partement des op\u00e9rations de paix de l’ONU. Avant 2019, en tant que sous-secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral au D\u00e9partement des affaires politiques, il \u00e9tait responsable des Am\u00e9riques, de l’Europe et du Moyen-Orient, de l’Asie et du Pacifique, ainsi que du Groupe de la d\u00e9colonisation et de la Division des droits des Palestiniens. De 2008 \u00e0 2015, le nouveau responsable onusien a travaill\u00e9 comme Repr\u00e9sentant sp\u00e9cial du secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et chef du Centre r\u00e9gional des Nations Unies pour la diplomatie pr\u00e9ventive en Asie centrale (UNRCCA) \u00e0 Achgabat, au Turkm\u00e9nistan. Au cours de sa carri\u00e8re diplomatique, il a notamment \u00e9t\u00e9 directeur du Bureau du ministre des Affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res de la Slovaquie et ambassadeur et chef de la Mission de l’Organisation pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et la coop\u00e9ration en Europe (OSCE) \u00e0 Tachkent, en Ouzb\u00e9kistan.
