China's Ministry of Emergency Management has upgraded the emergency response level to the second-highest level for the landslide that struck southwestern Yunnan Province early Monday. The ministry has dispatched work teams to the disaster-hit area to guide the rescue and relief work. The landslide hit Liangshui Village in the city of Zhaotong in Yunnan Province at around 6 a.m. on Monday, burying 47 people, according to local headquarters for the disaster relief. Deux glissements de terrain ont entraîné la disparition de quatre personnes dimanche dans le bourg de Fengshan, dans la province chinoise du Yunnan (sud-ouest), ont indiqué les autorités locales. Le ministère des Ressources naturelles a activé dimanche à 14h00 une intervention en cas de catastrophe géologique de niveau IV pour le Yunnan et a dépêché une équipe de travail sur place pour orienter les opérations de sauvetage. La Chine dispose d’un système d’intervention d’urgence en cas de catastrophe géologique à quatre niveaux, le niveau I étant le plus grave.
